We’re getting right into the crunchy & interesting spot in the 21dma-structure, with a higher low made on Friday and that potential weekly U&R off the 579$ base area reclaim.

We confirmed a potential weekly & daily reversal pivot reclaim, along with a 21ema reclaim today… there is some constructive in that, but it remains to be seen if we can push above that structure and confirm at least a daily-structure reclaim.

- MCO NEUTRAL. (+0.80σ)

MCSI reclaimed the 10dma today. Could we push and sustain a trend from here?

The rally is occurring on deteriorating breadth fundamentals.

While advancers are leading and volume is upside-dominant on a 1-day basis, the 5-day and 21-day context reveals the underlying weakness: participation has contracted 11 percentage points over 21 days, and leadership expansion has turned negative.

The price structure (above 21-EMA but below 50-SMA with both moving averages flat) is characteristic of a bounce within a downtrend, not a new uptrend.

Key watch: whether MCSI can reclaim its 10-day moving average; failure to do so would confirm breadth deterioration is persisting. The 'tail_risk_upside' flag suggests some extreme positioning, but this should not be confused with structural health.

Monitor whether participation can expand back above 40% and whether leadership metrics stabilize above their 50-day averages—these would be necessary conditions for the rally to transition into a genuine recovery.

We’re getting right into the crunchy & interesting spot in the 21dma-structure, with a higher low made on Friday after a bad red open that got bought aggressively. We also have that potential weekly U&R off the 579$ base area reclaim.

That’s certainly a big change of character, which personally pushed me to test this market to the long side, but a lot remains to be confirmed this week. We remain below both daily & weekly declining structures, and until we reclaim both and act well on backtest, it remains a counter-trend rally.

BREADTH $QQQ McClellan Oscillator/Summation (MCSI/MCO)

- MCSI UPTREND BELOW DECLINING 10dma & OVERSOLD. (-1.61σ)

- MCO NEUTRAL. (+0.25σ)

MCSI uptrend held on Friday, with the 3rd day of breadth expansion. We’re getting right up against the 10dma, which could confirm a potential turn. Key spot.

The correction is confirmed by broken price structure and deteriorating breadth. The 5-day breadth thrust (+86 GDB) is notable but must be contextualized: it represents a recovery from extreme weakness, not a trend reversal.

For a meaningful uptrend to resume, NASDAQ would need to

(1) reclaim the 50-SMA around 102.03,

(2) see the McClellan Summation Index reclaim its 10-day moving average, and

(3) expand participation back above 40% of stocks above the 50-SMA.

Currently, only 27.7% qualify, which is well below healthy levels. Leadership expansion is stalled (cumulative net highs-lows at 2868 vs 50-day average of 2874.8), confirming that new highs are not driving the market. The 21-day deterioration in all major breadth metrics (participation down 23.8%, ad-net down 48, GDB down 79 points) establishes the corrective trend as the primary regime.

Watch for stabilization at the 50-SMA as a potential inflection point, but confirmation would require breadth expansion, not just price bounce.

Downtrend continues, on both the daily & weekly timeframes. The counter-trend rally continued today as we came right at the declining 21ema retest.

We are seeing a hard rejection on the Futures following Trump’s address tonight. We’ll still be looking at the potential scenario if we can create a higher low following that rejection, or simply make a new low and reconfirm the downtrend.

The correction is confirmed by price structure failure and breadth deterioration.

Key observations:

(1) Participation has fallen sharply—only 24.8% above 50-SMA is well into weak territory;

(2) The 21-day GDB swing (+113 to -52) suggests a reflexive bounce may have exhausted;

(3) Advancers are still leading on a net basis (+21 A/D net today), but this is masking internal weakness—volume is upside-dominant but participation is collapsing, a divergence typical of late-stage rallies;

(4) The MCO Z-score of +0.30 is not extreme, suggesting room for further deterioration before an oversold bounce becomes likely;

(5) Leadership is not expanding (cumulative net highs-lows below 50-DMA), which is a red flag in a correction. Watch for MCO to reach -2.0 Z-score or lower for potential oversold inflection.

Confirmation of a bottom would require MCSI reclaiming its 10-DMA and price stabilizing above the 21-EMA.

The structural setup is unambiguously corrective. Price is below both key moving averages, neither is rising, and leadership expansion has stalled (cumulative net highs/lows at 2872 vs 50-day average of 2877). The recent daily breadth thrust (+125.5 GDB yesterday) and positive advance/decline net (+67) are consistent with a reflexive bounce within a downtrend, not a trend reversal signal.

Key watch: whether MCSI can reclaim its 10-day moving average (currently at 96.7) to signal breadth stabilization. Until participation metrics (% above 50-SMA, % above 21-EMA) move materially higher and price reclaims the 50-SMA, the correction remains intact. The extreme up/down volume ratio (18.6x) is notable but occurs frequently during corrective bounces and does not override the weak participation structure.

Confirmation of reversal would require price above 50-SMA with rising participation and MCSI above its 10-day average sustained over multiple days.

QQQ is still in a breadth contraction regime, but we are on watch for a counter-trend bounce, given the oversold picture on MCO & MCSI.

The 21-day deterioration in participation (-35.6 percentage points in % above 50-SMA) is severe and suggests broad-based selling rather than sector rotation. Leadership is not expanding (cumulative net highs-lows at 2877 vs 50-day MA of 2880.72).

Key watch: whether MCSI can reclaim its 10-day MA (17.92) to signal early breadth stabilization, or whether it continues lower. Price needs to reclaim 102.32 (50-SMA) to challenge correction thesis.

Current flags include volume downside dominance, weak participation, and tail risk to the downside. The one-day bounce in MCO and GDB may represent a short-term oversold condition, but without participation expansion and price structure recovery, it lacks conviction.

$QQQ PRICE ACTION (WEEKLY/DAILY)

Weekly in a DOWNTREND BELOW DECLINING 10wma-structure.

Daily in a DOWNTREND BELOW DECLINING 21dma-structure.

We officially closed last week below the $579.26 base pivot, confirming the new swing low from the Nov. 2025 low for a long-term trend structure shift.

QQQ is definitely stretched at -3.6xATR from the 10wma and -2.87xATR from the 21dma, but that type of multi-month base breakdown action we saw in the last 2 weeks can definitely carry a lot of downside momentum.

BREADTH $QQQ McClellan Oscillator/Summation (MCSI/MCO)

- MCSI DOWNTREND BELOW DECLINING 10dma & OVERSOLD. (-1.62σ)

- MCO OVERSOLD. (-1.51σ)

QQQ is still in a breadth contraction regime, but we on watch for counter-trend bounce with that oversold picture on MCO & MCSI.

Correction is broad and deepening. The 21-day deterioration across all participation metrics (percent above 50-SMA down 38.6 points, percent above 21-EMA down 42.6 points) indicates this is not a shallow pullback but a structural breakdown.

Price action is the primary confirmation: both short-term and intermediate moving averages are flat to declining, and price is below both.

Watch for:
(1) whether MCO reaches -2.0 or lower (capitulation signal),
(2) whether MCSI stabilizes above its 10-day MA (early sign of participation stabilization),
(3) price reclosure above the 21-EMA as a necessary first step for trend reversal. The 40.6% of stocks above the 200-SMA suggests some longer-term support remains, but intermediate structure is broken. Tail risk flags are active (downside participation, new lows dominating).

This is a correction environment where rallies should be treated as relief bounces unless breadth expansion is confirmed.

Price in a DOWNTREND BELOW DECLINING 10wma-structure.

We also broke below both last week’s and Nov. 579.26$ swing low. Today’s break, if it holds into the week close tomorrow, will be another significant break after retesting and rejecting the 594.01$ base structure yesterday.

Base structure retest & rejection with a new low today. The daily trend is reconfirmed with today’s action.

- MCO NEUTRAL.

QQQ is still in a breadth contraction regime.

The internals are screaming risk-off right now — VIX is surging at 27.44, up 8.33% today and 53% over the past month, which tells me fear is not just spiking, it's been building a base. That's a VIX firmly in an UPTREND ABOVE RISING structure, and until we see a breakdown of that swing low, bulls have no business getting comfortable. Credit spreads (SHY/HYG at 1.0418) are quietly creeping wider — up 0.61% on the week and 1.52% on the month — confirming the bond market is pricing in stress, not complacency. Meanwhile, the XLK/XLP ratio is collapsing at 1.6330, down 2.67% today and 3.30% on the week, which is a textbook rotation out of tech and into defensives — that's not a healthy bull market signal. Crude at 93.95 is a wildcard: up 4% today but down 4.44% on the week after a monster 31.9% monthly run, so watch for a Reclaim or Rejection of the 21dma-structure on Crude closely — if it rolls over from here, that's stagflation fear easing, but if it holds, inflation pressure stays on the table and the Fed stays hawkish.

A retest of the 21dma-structure on XLK/XLP and a breakdown in VIX below its rising 10wma-structure will be the key signals to watch before any risk-on thesis gains credibility.

LIQUID LEADERS ANALYSIS (LLS COMP.)

Below you’ll find the analysis of the Liquid Leaders composite, which now becomes my primary reference for market conditions.

This replaces the traditional QQQ / SPY / IWM read I was using before. The goal is simple, instead of tracking a broad index that only partially reflects what I trade, I now focus directly on the universe of stocks that actually drive my performance.

The Liquid Leaders basket comprises roughly 100 highly liquid leading stocks that consistently exhibit relative strength and institutional interest. It’s essentially a filtered view of the market’s real “engine.”

You can access this composite directly in TradersLab through the TLMM dashboard.

From here, all my engagement and defense signals are derived from this composite. The same framework applies, price action around the 21dma-structure, combined with MCSI & MCO to track breadth expansion, contraction, and extreme conditions. The difference is that everything is now measured on the exact universe I trade, rather than a proxy like QQQ.

In other words, instead of asking “what is the market doing?”, I’m asking:
What are the leading stocks I actually trade doing?

That shift makes the signals more relevant, more actionable, and better aligned with real execution.
